Firefighters have been called out to a blaze at a house in a village near Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
A bungalow in Deanfield Road in Town Yetholm was said to be well alight when Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue were called at about 0350 GMT.
The village, which sits in the valley of the Bowmont Water, is about eight miles south east of Kelso, close to the Scotland-England border.
There were no reports of any injuries from the early morning fire.
LBFRS said an investigation was ongoing into the cause of the blaze which destroyed the building.
A spokesman said: "The fire crews had great difficulty reaching Town Yetholm due to the road conditions.
"It was a major fire and neighbours were decanted from their properties.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation."
