Borders three-car crash witnesses sought

Police have appealed for witnesses following a three-car crash on the A703 in the Borders.
The road was shut at Cowieslinn Quarry for five hours from 1550 GMT on Thursday to let fire crews cut a 67-year-old man free from his car.
He was taken to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as stable.
Lothian and Borders Police said the drivers and occupants of the other vehicles were treated at the scene.
It is not known if the weather played a part in the accident.
However, police have advised all motorists to take care on Borders roads after temperatures dipped as low as -16C overnight.
