Galashiels soldier leaves hospital after Kenya crash

A soldier from the Scottish Borders has been released from hospital following a car crash while on training in Kenya.

Colin Dodds, 19, suffered serious head injuries in the accident last week.

He was training in the country with his regiment, 3rd Battalion The Rifles, for a number of weeks to acclimatise them ahead of active duty in Afghanistan.

It is believed he was the only soldier injured in the crash. The Army said the accident was being investigated by the Royal Military Police.
