Lockerbie woman denies dog bite charge

A woman has appeared in court accused of being the owner or in charge of a dog alleged to have repeatedly bitten an 11-year-old girl.

Angela Marshall, 19, of Mill Court, Lockerbie, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence in the town's McJerrow Park on Sunday.

The depute fiscal sought an early trial date as the case involved a child witness and the dog was in kennels.

The trial was set for February at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
