Galashiels axe attack charges denied

Three people are to stand trial on charges of breaking into a Borders home and assaulting a man with an axe.

Nicole Dodds, 19, George Winkley, 42, and Thomas Kennedy, 48, all of Galashiels, deny the charges.

All three are accused of breaking into a house in the town's St Andrew's Street on 3 July last year and carrying out the assault.

They also deny striking a woman with a hammer to the danger of her life.

Ms Dodds further denies possession of a hammer and Mr Kennedy possession of an axe.

They will stand trial on 21 May at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
