Peebles cannabis crop arrests made

Two men have been arrested and charged after the recovery of a £35,000 crop of cannabis at a property in the Borders.

The cultivation, containing about 80 plants, was discovered at Bridgegate Court in Peebles on Sunday.

Police said the "substantial" find had come as a result of "proactive policing in the area".

They said the men, aged 31 and 32, were scheduled to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

In a separate incident, three people have been arrested and charged after the discovery of drugs at a property in the Bountrees in Jedburgh on Saturday.

Cocaine with a street value of more than £9,000 was found.
