A701 crash claims woman's life

A woman has been killed and a man is in hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the A701 in the Borders.

Police were called to the incident between the Crook Inn and Tweedsmuir at about 13:25.

A female driver died in the accident while the man behind the wheel of the other vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigations are under way into the cause of the crash and the road has been closed.
