Annan flat assault of man and woman investigated

A man and woman have been seriously assaulted in their Annan home by a group of three men.

The incident happened at about 23:20 on Wednesday at a flat in the town's Millpark Terrace.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said three men had entered the property and assaulted the occupants.

The 36-year-old male victim received a cut to the face and serious cut to his hand in the incident. The 32-year-old woman suffered facial injuries.

Police have issued descriptions of the three men they want to trace in connection with the incident.

The first was about 5ft 9in tall, with short, dark hair and had a local accent.

'Colourful writing'

He was wearing an orange or red Adidas tracksuit top.

The second man was about 5ft 7in tall with a bald head and was not thought to be local.

He was wearing blue jeans with the name McKenzie written on the sides in "colourful writing".

The third man was only described as wearing jeans and a brown top.

Police have moved to reassure local people that it was not a "random attack" and said they were following a positive line of enquiry.
