The family of a teenager who died after falling from his scooter in the Borders has paid tribute to him.

Graham Sinclair, 18, of Reston near Eyemouth, died at the scene of the accident on an unclassified road near Ayton on Saturday.

A statement issued through Lothian and Borders Police described him as "happy-go-lucky and carefree".

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone who was in the area has been asked to contact police.

The short statement released via the police paid tribute to Mr Sinclair - known to his friends as Gaig - who worked at Yummleys Coffee Shop in Reston.

"Happy-go-lucky and carefree, Graham was always the life and soul of the party," it said.

"He had a word for everyone and was always smiling.

"He was dearly loved and now sorely missed by family and friends alike."
