Cyclist hurt in Innerleithen to Traquair road crash

A cyclist from Haddington has been seriously injured after a collision with a car on a country road in the Scottish Borders.

The incident happened on the Innerleithen to Traquair B709 road at about 14:30 on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the scene, which is popular with cyclists and mountain bikers.

An air ambulance was dispatched but it was decided to take the 64-year-old to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by road.

The road was closed for five hours with diversions put in place.
