Melrose publican Keith McDonald appeals jail sentence
A pub owner jailed for eight months for indecently assaulting two staff members and a customer has been freed on appeal.
Keith McDonald, 48, was told at Selkirk Sheriff Court that he had abused his position as an employer at the Ship Inn in Melrose.
However after he was sentenced on Tuesday, he instructed his legal team to appeal the sentence.
The Scottish Court Service confirmed he was freed later that day.
In addition to the prison sentence, McDonald was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.
He was found guilty of committing four offences over 10 years at the Ship Inn, where his wife is the licensee and he is human resources manager.
