Selkirk's Rowan Tree Theatre company closes its doors

A Borders theatre company is to close its doors after 25 years blaming a drop in funding and increasing show costs.

The board of Selkirk-based Rowan Tree Theatre Company said it had struggled to survive for some time.

However, they added that they took pride in its legacy of nurturing up-and-coming actors and playwrights, and creating award-winning new works.

The Duke of Buccleuch will host a "poignant but positive" farewell at Bowhill Theatre on 27 April.
