Selkirk Bike Festival kicks off Borders cycling weekend
Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts are expected to descend on a Borders town for a series of mountain bike events.
The sport will be celebrated at The Selkirk Bike Festival on Friday evening, when stunt riders will showcase some of their best tricks.
The town's High Street will be closed to traffic to allow families to take part in bike activities safely.
On Saturday leading endurance athletes will take part in the 2015 British Mountain Bike Marathon Championships.
Up to 100 riders will take on a 75km (46 miles) single lap course across natural and man-made tracks, ancient drove roads and twin-track forest roads.
Paul McGreal, from organiser Durty Events, said: "Our Friday evening Bike Festival is an extremely popular event with Selkirk MTB Marathon weekend, with both locals and visitors alike having a fantastic time on the traffic free High Street.
"This year we have a pump track, head-to-head roller racing, bike stunt displays, an airbag and a mini bike film festival.
"Best of all, it's totally free of charge, family friendly, and pretty spectacular."
