Plans which could increase the size of a Berwickshire village by about half have been approved by councillors.

Scottish Borders Council wants flooding, drainage and road safety concerns addressed in Swinton before houses are actually built.

Ladykirk Estate was granted permission in principle for 25 homes and a village hall.

A total of 15 letters of objection were received but councillors gave the scheme the green light with conditions.
