Dog bites man outside Dumfries convenience store

A man has been bitten on the knee by a dog tied up outside a convenience store in Dumfries.

The incident happened at the Scotmid shop on the town's Lochside Road at about 15:00 on Tuesday.

The white, spaniel-type dog bit the 21-year-old resulting in him having to have medical treatment at Dumfries Infirmary.

The dog was later taken away by a woman with blonde hair. Police said she may have been unaware of the incident.
