Moodiesburn pensioner faces Peebles death crash charge


A pensioner has appeared in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court accused of causing the death of his 87-year-old passenger by careless driving.

John Foster, 72, of Moodiesburn, was accused of causing a collision between two vehicles on the A72 near Peebles on 4 June last year.

Robert Kerr, of Glasgow, died in hospital following the accident.

Mr Foster made no plea and the case was continued for further examination. He was released on bail.
