Gang smashes up Dundee Kentucky Fried Chicken
Police are hunting a gang of up to 40 youths who smashed up a fast food restaurant on the outskirts of Dundee.
The group entered the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Camperdown Leisure Park at about 2200 BST on Monday and began overturning chairs.
When alarmed staff at the outlet locked the premises the gang kicked at the doors and windows until they smashed.
A Tayside Police spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are ongoing. It's too early to say what triggered it off."
One of the youths is believed to have used a metal pole during the incident.
Police officers are talking to local schools in a bid to identify the youths and find out if a dispute prompted the attack.
The spokeswoman added: "There was a prompt response from Tayside Police and the youths immediately dispersed. Full lines of inquiry are ongoing to identify the youths responsible.
"Police will maintain high profile patrols in the area. Anyone who witnessed the incident take place, or anyone who can identify any of the individuals involved, should get in touch with Tayside Police."
