A motorcyclist has died after a road crash north of Stirling.

Stuart Lloyd, 40, was the lead in a group of four motorcyclists travelling on the A84 near Doune, when the crash happened at about 1435 BST on Saturday.

Local police said he lost control on a left hand bend before colliding with a Toyota Rav4 coming the opposite way.

Two of the three motorcyclists travelling behind Mr Lloyd, who was from the Brightons area, near Falkirk, also crashed and were injured.

Central Scotland Police have appealed for witnesses.

The road was closed for more than five hours following the crash. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
