Thieves targeting Dundee car washes

Thieves have been targeting coin-operated car washes in the Dundee area, police have said.

Money was stolen from two car washes on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the thieves attempted to break into a third.

Tayside Police said they were keen to trace two people in an old-style Ford Transit van, with yellow roof lights.

The van is believed to have used the Jet Service Station car wash on Forfar Road, Dundee, at about 0400 BST on Wednesday.

There was an attempted break-in at the service station's car wash sometime between 1700 BST on Tuesday and 1100 BST on Wednesday.

The thieves successfully targeted car washes Auto Ecosse on Monifieth Road, Broughty Ferry, and Scotia Forecourts in Staffa Place, Dundee.

Police have appealed to witnesses to contact them.
