Boy dies after being hit by Dundee taxi


A teenager left in a critical condition after being hit by a taxi in Dundee in the early hours of Saturday morning has died.

Rikky Flynn, 16, from Dundee, was struck by the car which was travelling west on Kingsway East at 0130 BST.

Tayside Police said Mr Flynn was believed to have been trying to cross the road near to the Cutty Sark pub.

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital with a head injury and put on life support, but died on Saturday afternoon.

The road was closed for several hours to allow crash investigators to examine the scene.
