Fatal motorbike crash youth named

A teenager who died after a motorbike crash on the Pittenweem to Colinsburgh road in Fife has been named.

Andrew Murray, 18, from Denny in Stirlingshire, died on Saturday evening when his Yamaha collided with a Vauxhall Corsa on the B942.

The road was closed for almost six hours following the accident, which happened at about 1715 BST.

His family said they were devastated at the loss of a "magnificent son and brother".

His parents, Donald and Lynn, described their son as a keen musician with a fantastic personality, and said his tragic death would leave a permanent gulf in their lives.

They said: "An apprentice coach-builder and a motorcyclist - his fantastic personality made him popular with all who met him.

"The gulf in our lives will never be filled but we are so happy for the brief 18 years he gave us."

Police have appealed to anyone who saw the Yamaha motorbike or the Vauxhall Corsa prior to the crash to come forward.
