More than 30 firefighters have attended a blaze at the BP oil plant in Bo'ness.

The fire, in a tank storing residual oil from the Forties Pipeline, was reported at 0855 GMT.

Firefighters from Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service and a separate unit that are permanently stationed at the plant were on site for more than an hour.

No-one was hurt in the incident and the site's owners said the fire had not affected the plant's operations.

A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said: "The fire caused a fairly large plume of smoke.

"I can reassure the community that this was a minor incident which has now been brought under control."

The BP plant sits alongside the giant Ineos oil refinery in Grangemouth.
