A man has been taken to hospital in Dundee after thieves attacked him in his home and stole money.

Tayside Police said the robbery happened in the city's St Fillans Road on Wednesday at about 1800 GMT.

The force said two males entered the man's home, assaulted him and his partner, then made off with a three-figure sum.

The man was taken to Accident and Emergency at Ninewells Hospital, where he was kept in overnight.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have described the suspects as being between 20 and 30 years of age. One of them had dark hair, while the other was described as being fair haired.

The force said it was also keen to trace two men who were seen getting into a small red vehicle, parked nearby in St Giles Terrace, at about the time the robbery took place.
