Woman dies after being hit by bus in Dundee

An 81-year-old woman has died after being hit by a bus in Dundee.

The woman was seriously injured after being hit by a Travel Dundee double-decker bus in the Seagate at about 1520 GMT on Thursday.

Tayside Police said she was crossing the road near the back entrance of the Marks and Spencer store when the collision happened.

The woman, who has not been named, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, but later died of her injuries.

A spokesman for Tayside police said: "Police are still making inquiries into the incident and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.

"In particular they are keen to speak with persons who may have been passengers on the bus and who left prior to police arriving."
