Appeal after attack on pedestrian in Dundee

A man hit by a car as he walked across a road was then punched in the face by the driver, police in Dundee have said.

The 23-year-old was crossing Shaftesbury Road at about 1450 GMT on Sunday when he was knocked to the ground by a blue Renault Megane.

As the man stood up after the incident, he was assaulted by the driver before he managed to run away.

Tayside Police said he was taken to Ninewells Hospital with a broken nose and two black eyes after the attack.

He was not injured as a result of being hit by the car.

The male driver is described as being in his mid to late 20s, 6ft (1.83m) tall and of medium build.

Police have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
