Man dies in three-vehicle pile-up on A9
A man who died in a crash involving three vehicles on the A9 in Perthshire on Thursday came from the Inverness area, police have said.
The 77-year-old has been identified by next of kin but has not been named.
His car was in collision with a van and another car, just north of Calvine, at about 1345 GMT.
The 52-year-old van driver was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The car driver did not need treatment.
Tayside Police said the road was closed for more than five hours after the crash and appealed for witnesses.
The crash happened on a single-carriageway stretch of the A9, just a few miles from a collision on 3 March involving a lorry and two vans.
Sixty-two-year-old Frederick Mollon, from Glasgow, was airlifted to hospital after last week's smash, but died later that day.
