Dundee computer games firm Cohort Studios to close down
A computer games developer is to close its Dundee studio with the loss of 25 jobs.
Cohort Studios said it was the victim of a decline in the market for console games such as Playstation and Nintendo.
The company's chief executive, Lol Scragg, said: "It really is with great sadness that we have been left with no alternative but to start winding down."
Computer firm Realtime Worlds went out of business last year with the loss of almost 200 jobs in Dundee.
Founded in 2006, Cohort Studios had worked on a number of well known titles including the Buzz! and Lemmings.
Mr Scragg said: "Making all 25 employees redundant is genuinely heartbreaking.
"It goes without saying that we wish them all every success, as they really are a very talented team and we are actively trying to seek employment for each and every one of them.
"As we entered 2011, we have looked to change the direction of our business but unfortunately we ran out of time."
