Drug seizure after raid on Perth homes

Tayside Police have recovered drugs worth more than £200,000 after they raided a number of properties in Perth.

The force said the seizure was the result of two intellegence-led operations.

In the first, a commercial yard and seven houses in Perth were searched.

Cannabis resin, amphetamine, diazepam and ecstasy tablets - thought to be worth £200,000 - were recovered. Two men, aged 48 and 28, were detained and are expected to appear in court later.

The second operation concerned a house in Tay Street in Perth.

Cocaine valued at £8,000 was recovered by officers and a 48-year-old man detained. He is also expected to appear in court.

Det Insp Colin Gall of Tayside Police said: "These two operations will have a significant impact on the drug supply chain, not only in Perth but throughout Tayside.

"We will continue to develop the intelligence we hold to ensure that we are effective in targeting the people involved in serious and organised crime activities."
