A 15-year-old boy has been charged following a series of lead thefts from buildings in Grangemouth.

Central Scotland Police said the lead had been taken over the past few months. All the buildings targeted were owned by Falkirk Council.

Six charges have been brought against the teenager, who will be reported to the Children's Reporter.

Grangemouth police officers said the arrest came after an "intense investigation".

PC David Bellingham said: "The buildings damaged are all local authority premises, which can be vulnerable outwith normal working hours.

"Can I urge all members of the community to keep an extra eye on school and other local authority buildings."
