Driver injured in A91 lorry and tractor crash

A man has been left seriously injured after his tipper lorry and a tractor collided on a Perthshire road.

The 56-year-old driver was trapped in his cab following the crash on the A91 Stirling to St Andrews road.

Tayside Police said the incident happened at about 13:25 at the B919 Mawcarse junction.

A large quantity of potatoes, which was being transported by one of the vehicles involved, spilled across the road.

The road was closed until almost 20:00.

Police said the tipper driver sustained serious leg and chest injuries and was receiving surgery at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

The 42 year old male tractor was unininjured.
