Montrose man killed in Angus motorbike crash

A motorcyclist has been killed following a collision involving two bikes and a car in Angus.

The 25-year-old is thought to have collided with another bike, resulting in both the riders being thrown from their motorcycles.

Tayside Police said the rider, from the Montrose area, was then hit by a car.

The second motorcyclist involved suffered minor injuries in the crash on the A935 near Brechin Castle Centre at about 20:40 on Wednesday.

Officers believe the man had been travelling south from Brechin on an orange KTM motorcycle, along with three other motorcyclists who were riding a black and dark blue Honda, a blue Aprilia and a blue Yamaha.

The KTM and Honda bikes collided in the incident. The car involved was a white Vauxhall Astra.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: "Emergency services attended at the scene, but despite their best efforts the 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The other unseated rider, an 18-year-old, suffered minor bumps and bruises and was treated at the scene. No-one else was injured in the incident."

"The road was closed until about 4.45am, while crash investigators carried out detailed examination at the scene."

Tayside Police has appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
