Vandals stretch rope across Clackmannanshire road

A rope tied across a Clackmannanshire road could have killed or seriously injured a motorbike rider, police have said.

Three cars hit the rope, which had been stretched across the A908 Fishcross to Tillicoultry Road near Marchglen, at about 22:30 on Sunday.

Central Scotland Police said officers wanted to trace three youths who were seen in the area at the time.

They have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

Insp Malcolm McEwan said: "This could have had tragic consequences had a motorcyclist struck the rope which was not easily visible.

"This is highly irresponsible."
