A body discovered in Perthshire woodland on Sunday has been formally identified as a 77-year-old woman who had been missing for more than a month.

Elizabeth Stevenson was reported missing on 21 February, prompting a major search in and around Pitlochry.

Mrs Stevenson had Alzheimer's and was described by police as "extremely vulnerable".

Her body was found by a walker near Overton of Finab, Pitlochry, at about 10:30 on Sunday.

She had been last seen on the A9 at the Faskally Bridge, about 2km away.

After her disappearance, dozens of police and local people carried out searches of the area and police divers were brought in to search Loch Faskally.
