Absconded killer Daniel Somers traced and arrested
A convicted killer who was on the run from an open prison near Dundee has been arrested.
Daniel Somers failed to return to Castle Huntly prison on 7 March after being granted home leave.
The 49-year-old has spent most of his life behind bars after being sentenced to life for murder in 1978.
A spokesman for Tayside Police said he had been traced in Glasgow. He is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.
Somers was released on life licence in 1999, but was jailed again after an assault charge in October 2000.
