Driver killed and two injured in M80 lorry smash
A man has died and two other people have been injured after a crash involving two lorries on the M80.
Central Scotland Police said the crash happened at about 09:32 between junctions seven and eight as the trucks travelled northbound.
Officers said a 39-year-old driver, from East Dunbartonshire, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert where he later died.
The M80 was closed northbound while investigations were carried out.
Police said one of the vehicles involved was a motorway maintenance truck with a flashing arrow at its rear.
Two other men were also taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
Police said diversions had been put in place between Denny and Stirling.
Insp David McKenzie added: "We are keen to hear from anybody who may have been travelling in either direction on the motorway and who saw the collision to contact us. I urge anybody who saw this to come forward."
