Man in court over explosion at Dundee tenement

A man has appeared in court charged with firearms and explosives offences following an explosion in a tenement close.

Residents were evacuated after the incident in Cullen Place, Dundee, on Thursday night.

No one was injured but doors and windows in the block were damaged.

Allan Peach, 24, faced charges under the Explosive Substances Act 1883, the Firearms Act 1968 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

He made no plea or declaration during the appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.
