Teenagers detained after two hurt in Dundee disturbance

Two teenagers have been detained after a disturbance in Dundee which left two men requiring hospital treatment.

The men, aged 30 and 31, were taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries following the incident in the city's Maryfield area at about 20:25 on Sunday.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were taken into custody following the incident.

Tayside Police said they were following other positive lines of inquiry, but appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Det Insp Mike Pirie said: ''The injured men had been drinking in the 4Js bar just prior to the incident and were on their way to another pub nearby when the disturbance broke out.

"We know that there were as many as 10 people in the street at the time - both men and women and a number of them in their teens - and that there would have been a fair degree of noise generated.

"I would ask that anyone who saw or heard anything get in touch with us as they may be able to help our enquiries."
