A security van has left the entrance to the secure compound at Dundee's Sheriff court wedged open after the gate was lowered onto the moving vehicle.

The G4S van was exiting the yard behind the court and Tayside Police's HQ when it hit the roller door.

The impact buckled the door preventing it from closing.

Tayside Police said arrangements had been put in place to ensure security was not compromised and the door would be replaced.

A spokeswoman added: "Tayside Police can confirm that the roller shutter door at Tayside Police headquarters in Dundee was damaged following a collision with a vehicle.

"Suitable arrangements have been put in place to ensure security has not been compromised.

"The door will be replaced in due course."
