Teacher accused of 1990s child abuse
A primary school teacher took a pupil home and played him an adult pornographic film while abusing him in his bedroom, a jury has been told.
The boy, now 34, said Caven Muirhead also sexually abused him while on a holiday to Findhorn Bay in Moray.
Stirling Sheriff Court was told the boy was in primary six or seven at Deerpark Primary School in Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, at the time.
Mr Muirhead denies the allegations, which date back to the 1990s.
The 34-year-old told the court Mr Muirhead, 56, drove him up to Findhorn in a "quite sporty" Vauxhall Astra.
He said he remembered going with Mr Muirhead during the summer holidays to an outdoor go-karting site, to the beach, and watching the Nimrod planes at the nearby RAF station.
Stirling Sheriff Court was told that while at the Moray caravan site he abused him and performed a sex act in the caravan's double bed.
The 34-year-old said: "I didn't know anything sexually at that age. I didn't know any better."
He said that Mr Muirhead phoned his parents and suggested staying on for a couple of days so his mother would not see an injury he sustained in the attack.
The witness said the 56-year-old often used to collect him, and sometimes his younger brother, and take them to the home in Tillicoultry which Mr Muirhead shared with his parents.
He said that one one occasion, while he was in P6 or P7, he was taken there alone.
They had tea and then went upstairs, where Mr Muirhead put on a pornographic video.
The court was told the boy had said nothing about the incidents until five or six years ago, when he told "a trauma team" at Stirling Royal Infirmary.
He told the court he was "an innocent" at the time of the alleged abuse.
Caven Muirhead, from Tillicoultry, denies five charges of indecency.
He is accused of abusing the boy and his younger brother at various locations using "lewd, indecent and libidinous practises and behaviour" between 1989 and 1996.
The trial continues.
