Two bikers seriously injured in Glen Ogle crash

Two bikers have been seriously injured in a head-on crash on the A85, near the summit of Glen Ogle, in Stirlingshire.

The collision, at about 13:45, involved a northbound blue BMW RT1100 and a southbound green Kawasaki Z1000.

A 58-year-old man from Ayrshire and a 62-year-old Austrian man were airlifted to Glasgow's Southern General.

Police are keen to trace the driver of a light-coloured box-style van or small lorry which was overtaken by the BMW bike just before the collision.

The accident happened on the Lochearnhead to Crianlarich road, about two miles north of Lochearnhead.

The road was closed for about six hours to allow a crash investigation to take place.
