Police in Perthshire have renewed an appeal over a missing 82-year-old man, one year on from his disappearance.

William Elder was last seen at his home address in James Court, Pitlochry, at 10:45 on 10 December 2013.

Mr Elder was said to be 5ft tall and have greying hair. He was last seen wearing a green wax jacket, black trousers and brown boots.

Police said he has difficulty walking and has a distinctive limp. There is "considerable concern" for his welfare.

Mr Elder's disappearance is considered out of character, and police want to speak to anyone who may have seen him in and around the Pitlochry area in the past year.

Fears were raised that he may have fallen into the River Tummel, with initial searches focusing around that area.
