Drug dealer caught in double raids jailed

A Clackmannan drug dealer caught with heroin valued at £26,000 following two police raids has been jailed for three years.

A court heard that Maria Ross was bailed after an initial police dawn raid recovered 125g of the Class A drug.

Undercover officers had made "test purchases" prior to the raid.

Police were tipped off that she was continuing to deal the drug and staged another raid, recovering 118g.

The 33 year old pleaded guilty at Falkirk Sheriff Court to being concerned in the supply of heroin in November 2015 and March of this year.

Kelly Howe, defending, said her client was a drug user who had run up debts with heroin suppliers that she "could not feasibly pay", and had been coerced into dealing in a bid to clear them.

Sheriff John Mundy told Ross: "This was an offence of a serious nature, perpetrated over a period of time."
