Woman dies after being struck by train at Broughty Ferry

A woman in her 40s has been killed after being struck by a train at Broughty Ferry.

The incident happened shortly before 11:00 near the town's railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and they were now working to identify the woman and inform her next of kin.

A BTP spokesman confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene but did not provide further details.

Train services in the area are expected to be disrupted until 16:00 as a result of the incident.
