Lifeboat crews from Broughty Ferry have rescued a yacht after its mast broke in the River Tay near Carnoustie.

The crew was scrambled at about 14:35 on Wednesday after the 24-foot vessel's two crew members raised the alarm.

The lifeboat crews secured a tow line to the yacht before towing it up river to the Royal Tay Yacht Club.

A Broughty Ferry RNLI spokesman said the yacht's crew were not injured during the incident.
