Woman charged with murder after Marie Low death

A woman has appeared in court accused of murdering a mother-of-three by attacking her in the street.

Marie Low was stabbed in Ballantrae Terrace in Dundee at about 15:00 on Sunday.

Siobhan Russell appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court facing a single charge of murder.

She made made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.

Her solicitor Gary Fowlis, asked that she be released on bail during a 15 minute hearing.

However, Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC remanded the 30-year-old in custody ahead of a further hearing next week.

Miss Low was found badly wounded outside the block of flats where she lived.

The 36-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee but later died of her injuries.

Tributes have been paid to Miss Low by friends and family.

Her daughter, Shanice Low, wrote on Facebook: "R.I.P mummy I love you millions I can't believe your gone. I'm going to make you proud love you loads mummy."

Her brother, Kevin Low, added: "Love you sis - gone but never forgotten."

Her sister Denise Low, said: "My sister was strong and beautiful and will be sorely missed by us all. She was one of the best people I knew."

Several other friends changed profile photos to images of Miss Low, while one friend started a crowdfunding page to raise funds for her family.
