A body recovered from the River Tay has been formally identified as Perth man Iain Guthrie, who has been missing since December.

Police said the 21-year-old's body was recovered from the river at Newburgh, Fife, on 24 February.

Mr Guthrie was last seen in Perth's Dundee Road on 19 December.

Three UK Coastguard teams and the Broughty Ferry RNLI conducted a search of the shoreline near the Queen's Bridge at the time.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said there were no suspicious circumstances and a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
