Lorry driver killed in collision on A81 named

A 42-year-old man who died when his tipper lorry left the road on the A81 has been named as Gary McEachran of Campbeltown.

The incident happened about 250m north of the Ballat Crossroads at about 07:30 on Thursday.

The road near Balfron was closed for most of the day before reopening.

Sgt Adam Weir, of Forth Valley road policing unit, said: "This is a tragic collision and our thoughts are with Gary's family at this sad time."

He urged anyone with information to contact police.
