A 38-year-old man will stand trial accused of murdering a man and woman in a Dundee tenement block.

Krzysztof Gadecki is alleged to have killed Ronnie Kidd, 40, and Holly Alexander, 37, in Mr Kidd's flat in the city's west end.

He is accused of repeatedly striking them both on the body with a knife or similar instrument.

The offence is alleged to have taken place in the city's Rosefield Street between 8 December and 11 December.

Chris Fyffe, defending, entered not guilty pleas to the murder charges at the High Court in Glasgow.

The solicitor advocate also lodged a special defence of self defence.

Judge Lady Scott set a trial due to begin on 19 September at the High Court in Edinburgh.
