Motorcyclist, 26, killed in crash in Monmouthshire

A 26-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a road crash in Monmouthshire on Monday afternoon, say Gwent Police.

The incident, also involving a Peugeot 206 car, happened on the B4235 at Shirenewton, near Chepstow, close to the Carpenters Arms pub.

The male motorcyclist, who was from Aberdare in the Cynon Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the man, woman and two children travelling in the car were not injured.

The road was temporarily closed while emergency services attended.
