Fire crew rescue woman in blaze in Merthyr Tydfil house

A woman was rescued and taken to hospital after a fire on the ground floor of a house in Merthyr Tydfil.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were called to the blaze on the Gurnos estate shortly before 0120 BST.

Four firefighters using breathing apparatus went in to the end-of-terrace property in Wellingtonia Close.

The fire is now out and the fire service has left the scene. There is no update on the woman's condition.
